To Sell or Not To Sell

The bike is still a little big for him and i have been thinking that maybe a small bambino kart would be better suited.

might move the bike on and start again on a new project as don’t really want it just to sit there and i could do with some thing else to keep me busy.

thinking ill get £500-600 out of it easy as it is as new and i can deliver. any questions kev.neill@gmail.com

Re-Build !!

Today rebuilt the bike and am now 95% there just have some final tweaks with the throttle cable and give a once over prior to giving her the first kick.

All seems good and the rear wheel problem is now gone, I believe the bearing change and shaft work did the trick.

Once Iv fully finished will update all items changed and problems found.

The engine work has been completed today.

New plug, new piston, new rings, new small end bearing, new gasket kit, skimmed and honed, full carb clean, new throttle and oil pump cable, new oil, kick start respray, head/barrel brush and spray.

The oil piston looked bit charred but the barrel was good maybe run a bit rich as it was being pre mixed when I picked it up.

Update ! Work commences once again

This week I moved the PW to the stores and work shop at work, as winter approaches I need some where dry and light to work on it.

I haven’t done much on it because of work commitments and awaiting the arrival of our next child.

I plan to have the bike complete by Christmas including a full engine rebuild . Prob start on it in the next few weeks as soon as the baby is here, works may be interrupted by the autumn rugby internationals tho.

I’ll update some pictures soon as I get the engine ect apart

Let me know if any of you guys are planning or doing a rebuild

Update

Iv had a couple comements and emails that i will answer asap.

iv been really busy with stuff going on at work and were expecting our 2nd child in 4 weeks so had a lot going on with that.

the bike has not been touched but i will get round to completing it i think ill spend some time on it over the winter and have it ready for next summer.

keep the comments and questions coming and ill reply asap.

Update

Just quick update, nothing has really progressed due to holidays and getting ready for our next little baby due in November, looking at having cash to work on the motor next month.

Getting a few views on the blog now and hope it is of help, let me know any comments or questions to kev.neill@gmail.com also I would like to hear from other doing a restoration.

P.s I believe the problem in the rear wheel not running too freely prior to taking apart could be due to clutch being bit old. I’ll have this check with the motor rebuild
